Block Schedule
Adams has a block schedule that gives longer periods by meeting with fewer classes daily. On Tuesday and Thursday, periods 2, 4, and 6 meet. On Wednesday and Friday, periods 1, 3, and 5 meet. Mondays are called "stacked" days and all classes meet. Dismissal on Mondays is at 2:08. About once a month, Adams has a Monday assembly and a special schedule. On minimum days, students are dismissed at 12:29.
All students have Homeroom and Sustained Silent Reading (SSR). In Homeroom (10 minutes long), roll is taken, announcements are made, papers that go home are given out, and other business is taken care of. In SSR, all students read quietly for half an hour.
Lunch and SSR are split. Sixth graders and half of the seventh graders go to first lunch and have SSR immediately following. The other half of the seventh graders and eighth graders have SSR first, and then have lunch.
