Chorus Chorus is for anyone who wants to sing! We learn some music theory, such as how to read music, but focus on our performances. Our performances have a lot of singing and dancing, and we have a lot of fun in the process! Much of the choreography is made-up by the students themselves. Most of our concerts are combined with band, but we do some concerts on our own as well.
In addition to singing songs that are old, new, and in between; the choir also learns to perform with tone chimes. Tone chimes are just like hand bells you may have seen being performed in church. By using tone chimes, the choir members provide their own backup music to sing with.
Chorus can be taken for one semester, however, students are preferred to be in the entire year. It is also preferred to be taken year after year, so sixth grade is a good time to start! The best person to answer questions about chorus is Mr. Buchen (the teacher).
