Hi, my name is Amy Buttle and I teach Kindergarten at Birney Elementary School. This is my first year at Birney and I feel very fortunate to be a part of this wonderful community!
I grew up in Buffalo Grove, Illinois just outside of Chicago. My husband, Cory, and I got married in August 2003. We lived in Little Italy in Chicago before moving to lovely Redondo Beach in August 2007! I love to travel, read, shop, go for walks on the beach, and spend time with my family and friends.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Education from DePaul University in 1998. After graduating from DePaul, I taught fourth grade for seven years for Chicago Public Schools, at the same time earning my Master's degree in Instructional Leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Ever since I was very young, I always wanted to be a teacher. I feel very lucky to be teaching Kindergarten! I love working with all of the wonderful students, families and staff at Birney!
