Visiting
School
We encourage you to visit school. Please call the school office to set
up a visitation time. The day of the visit, check in at the office for
a visitor's badge. The secretary will let the teacher know that you
are on your way to the room. "Drop in" visits are discouraged, as they
can be very disruptive to the class and the teacher. The school needs
to be informed of all persons on the school campus for children's safety;
therefore all visitors to the school are to report first to the office.
If you are coming to school to visit or have lunch with your child,
it is standard procedure that you come to the office to receive a visitor's
badge. Please return the badge to the office before leaving.
Procedures
for checking students out of school
To ensure student safety the following are our general procedures:

Parents must come to the school office first when checking a student out of school during the school day. If parents go to classrooms first, they will be directed to the school office. Teachers will not release students from the classroom.

Our office staff are familiar with many parents. However, if staff is not familiar with someone checking a student out, they may ask the person for identification. The identification must match the name of a person indicated on the child's emergency card, or the child will not be released.

Parents sign the log located on the office counter.

The teacher is then notified and asked to send the child to the office where the office staff is able to see that the child recognizes the adult.
Volunteers
If you are volunteering in a classroom at our school, please come to
the office and sign in on the PTA volunteer board and get a volunteer
badge to wear while on campus. Please return badge to the office before
leaving.
