The
Parents’ Guide to Jefferson Kindergarten
10 things you should know:
1. Don’t let ‘em see you cry. We know…our baby’s
first day of school.
2. Sign up for PTA membership. Disaster kit proceeds go toward the PTA,
(it’s so much easier to just buy it) and the Jefferson School
T-shirts are worn on Fridays.
3. Meet your kids outside after school. It’s hard to find parking
so try to walk or get there early.
4. Pack a light snack. No candy or sodas. They only have a few minutes
to eat it (snack time is also recess time…enough said).
5. Know your way around. Dolphin Square is next to the office, the cafeteria
is to the north of it. CDC is on Flagler.
6. When you work in the class, you need to sign in at the office. They’ll
give you a nametag in the office (ask Karen, the secretary, she’s
really nice).
7. Have your kids wear closed-toed shoes, no heels or sandals. They
won’t be able to play on the playground.
8. No backpacks. Your child will get a laminated envelope to carry his
or her homework. (If you lose it, it’ll cost you a quarter!)
9. Take time to enjoy a cup of coffee. A coupon is enclosed courtesy
of It’s A Grind (great coffee).
10. Make sure you join PTA. Did I already say that?
The
PTA can always use your help in any way, big or small. Our projected
financial goal this year is $90,000. This money will help offset the
budget cuts made this year. If you have any questions, please contact
