Welcome to Room 22's Home Page!
Our teacher is: MS. STEPHENS
My
name is Ms. Socorro Stephens; I am the third through fifth grade
Child Development Center Teacher, as well as Teacher-In-Charge at
Madison CDC. I currently hold a certificated Child Development teaching
permit from the state of California, and an A.S. degree in Early
Childhood Education. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I have two
years experience in ESL and Special Education, in addition to being
a member of the Los Angeles Harbor College Child Development Committee.
I have taught at Madison since 1994 and have been employed by the
Redondo Beach Unified School District since 1990.
In room 22 we collectively strive to achieve an effective program
which meets the developmental, academic, cultural, social and emotional
needs of each child; through homework assistance, journal and creative
writing, math skill games, daily thirty-minute reading that coincides
with the STAR reading program, reading logs, physical education.
We also implement educational projects and fun filled arts &
crafts activities.
Our professional goal is to establish new ideas, skills and different
approaches to problem solving. We utilize unique, motivating, enriching
and innovative ways to apply academics at the appropriate age without
suppressing a child’s self~esteem, creativity or zest for
play.
We are looking forward to having a successful and productive school
year.
Yours truly,
Ms. Stephens
