Our teacher is: MS. MEDINA

My name is Mrs. Medina and I am the teacher of this room.  Our class consists of 1st-3rd graders.  I have been employed with Redondo Beach Unified School District for over ten years in the Child Development Center as well as in the school district's Special Education program.  I worked as an instructional aide as I pursued my education.  I currently hold an AA degree in Early Childhood Education and a California Teacher Credential.  I plan on continuing to work toward my Bachelor's degree in Human Services. 

My assistant in the room is Mrs. Wilson.  In addition to supplying the children and myself with her many years of experience, she also works as the ELL (English Language Learner) assistant teacher at Birney Elementary.  Together we'll strive to make your child's school year a memorable one.  Our classroom philosophy is that each child will gain self-confidence and achieve academic success, as we ensure a nurturing and safe environment.

Our children will experience learning through various forms of art, music, science, math and language art activities.  The children will have 1 hour in which to do homework.  There will also be a daily 30 min reading time, as well as an opportunity for journals and/or creative writing.  We understand that children work at their own pace, therefore the allotted time is given.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to speak with us at any time.
