Welcome to Room 24's Home Page!
Our teacher is: MS. RAZA/MS. HUBERT
My
name is Marzieh Raza. I would like to welcome you and your children
to the 2007-2008 school year. I am the morning Kindergarten and
First Grade teacher working with Ms. Bree Hubert and Ms. Marcia
Turner (afternoon staff) in room 24.
As we begin this year together I am looking forward to sharing
so many experiences with your children. I have been working with
young children for over twenty-five years. I love to work with young
children. Their enthusiasm always inspires me to be creative and
I try to challenge them to learn and grow. I have a Degree in Child
Development Education and a Masters Degree in Secondary Education.
Problem solving is part of our discussion during the day. It helps
children develop cognitive skills like math, science, language,
etc. Kindergarten students are taught to recite a poem each month
related to the theme of the month. Reading to children is done daily
during circle time and also silent reading is emphasized.
Welcome
to Madison Child Development Center. My name is Ms. Hubert, and
I am one of two kindergartner/first grade teachers in Room 24. I
look forward to meeting you and your child, and being part of their
early childhood experience.
I believe children learn by example of the world around them. We
should all be respectful caring citizens to each other, our community
and the world. We are all responsible for our actions and there
are consequences for all our actions, whether positive or negative.
By teaching children these tools they will be able to make good
choices.
By providing a positive, safe and educational environment children
will be motivated to learn. I believe children’s thoughts,
opinions and feelings should be respected. I include many of their
creative ideas in my weekly lesson plans. Some other exciting activities
I have planned this year included a fall nature walk, a season (for
every season) of giving back to our community, reading buddies with
our older CDC class, meet at Polliwog park for an Earth day celebration
and our annual Mother’s Day Tea.
I strongly believe communication and teamwork between the teacher,
parent and myself is a valuable system to make sure your child’s
educational experience at Madison ends up a great experience. I
am very dedicated to making sure your child learns skills to help
him/ her succeed in school and in life. The best gift I receive
every year is at the end of the school year when your child is able
to read, write, spell, add, subtract, uses cause and effect reasoning,
practices the character count pillars and uses his/ her thought
process to make decisions. There is no better reward than to be
a part of these accomplishments.
I have worked for Redondo Beach Unified School District for over
10 years. I started as an instructional aide while attending Los
Angeles Harbor College, studying Early Childhood Development. I
became a CDC substitute teacher after I received my Child Development
Teacher’s Permit. I received my Bachelors degree in Human
Services from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2003.
Ms.
Turner, our instructional aide, has been working at Madison for
over 5 years. She also has worked for over 10 years as an instructional
aide, in special education, for the County of Los Angeles.
I am very excited to be part of Madison’s Child Development
Center’s team. I have always been very fond of Madison. The
children, parents and staff are an exceptional group of people.
I look forward to working with you, your child, his/her teacher
and the community to make this year a wonderful learning experience.
As a teacher your child is my top priority. If you have any questions
or concerns please feel free to talk with me.
