Our teacher is: MRS. LUIS
Why
is Mrs. Luis smiling?
I am so excited for my 3rd year here at Madison. I feel so lucky
to be a part of the team. I truly feel at home here! The kids and
parents are so caring and sweet. Thanks for all the fun!
Favorites:
I love the beach, riding my beach cruiser with my husband, Mexican
food, peanut butter & chocolate fudge and Madison kids!
Ewww Gross:
I don’t like green beans, tomato juice, rainy days and rats
with long tails!
Welcome to Mrs. Luis’ 2nd Grade Class
During the first few days of school, the children and I will be
talking about rules, classroom conduct, consequences and rewards.
The children should understand that it is their responsibility to
follow the rules. Furthermore, the children need to understand that
in order to do well and succeed in school, there must be a respectful
and positive classroom environment. I believe that the students
should receive the best possible learning experience and in order
for me to provide this for all students in the class, we, as a class
have agreed upon the following Classroom Rules and Classroom Code
of Conduct
Classroom Code of Conduct
- Listen attentively
- Appreciation/No put-downs
- Right to pass
- Mutual respect
Classroom Rules
- Treat others the way you want to be treated.
- Listen attentively by raising your hand & waiting to be
called upon.
- Respect school property.
- Follow directions.
Classroom Behavior Chart
Each day, every student’s name starts out on the blue happy
face. Wherever a student makes the choice not to follow the rule,
their name is moved down to the next color. If the student is going
above & beyond the call of duty, they will be asked to move
their name up.
| Orange
= WOW!! You went above & beyond!! |
| Blue
= You’re doing a great job! |
| Green
= Oops! You need a warning. |
| Yellow
= Miss 1 recess |
| Red
= Miss all 3 recesses & phone call to parent. |
Positive Rewards
- Tickets will be given each day to the students whose names
are on the orange or blue happy faces. A raffle will be held each
week on Friday.
- Positive phone calls home
- Awards/Certificates in class & at the town meeting
I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year.
Please feel free to contact me at any time, for any reason, at (310)

Sincerely,
Mrs. Luis
